Our Story

Stitchonomy began as a small dream fueled by a passion for cross stitch and creativity. Over the years, we’ve evolved from a one-person operation into a vibrant, global community of stitchers. From beginners to seasoned enthusiasts, Stitchonomy continues to inspire, support, and celebrate every stitcher’s journey.
Through dedication and innovation, we’ve reached significant milestones, each one representing a step in our journey to becoming a trusted name in the world of cross stitch.
Founded Stitchonomy
2015
What started as a small Etsy shop has grown into a hub for creativity and community. From a tiny workspace in the corner of a spare room, Stitchonomy was born with the vision of making cross stitch modern, accessible, and fun for everyone.
Cross Stitch Collages
2020
After five years of designing, Stitchonomy released its first book, Cross Stitch Collages. This collection of 200 unique patterns celebrates the art of cross stitch in a new, creative way. It marked a turning point in our journey, solidifying our place in the cross stitch community.
Over 25,000 sales on Etsy
2024
With a growing catalog of patterns and products, Stitchonomy reached an incredible milestone: 25,000 sales on Etsy. This achievement reflects the trust and enthusiasm of our customers worldwide.
This is where it all started—a small desk and a big dream. Our first designs were sketched, stitched, and shared with the world from this cozy corner.
Inspiring stitchers face-to-face has always been part of our mission. Participating in KreaDoe allowed us to connect with the community directly, share our passion, and introduce new designs to a broader audience.
Fast forward to today: Stitchonomy has a dedicated studio where ideas come to life. This space is where we design, create, and connect with our community.
Meet the Team
Hi there, lovely stitcher!
I’m Alyssa, the designer and owner of Stitchonomy and the host of The Pattern Club.
For the past 10 years, I’ve turned my passion for cross stitch design into my full-time career. My work has been featured in popular cross stitch magazines, and my book Cross Stitch Collages includes 200 small patterns arranged into 10 stunning collages.
When I’m not designing, I love traveling and exploring new inspirations for our patterns. I also enjoy hosting Stitch Alongs, bringing stitchers together to create beautiful projects throughout the year!
Age 7
First cross stitch project – a Winnie the Pooh design I begged for, started and of course never finished.
Age 14
Stared doing pixel art on my dad’s computer. Designing dolls and dressing them up in my own creations.
Age 24
Opened the Etsy shop, transforming my pixel art into cross stitch patterns and sharing them for the first time.
Age 34
Celebrating 10 years in business, with thousands of patterns, products and deluxe kits sold and a thriving community of Stitchers!
Age 14

I’m here to make sure your Stitchonomy experience is smooth and enjoyable, handling customer service and keeping things running behind the scenes. I also love adding a bit of fun to our vibrant stitching community!
When I’m not managing the day-to-day, you’ll often find me traveling and soaking up inspiration for our cross stitch designs. Together with Alyssa, I’m dedicated to making your stitching journey as delightful as possible!

Stitchonomy isn’t just a business—it’s a way of life. We split our time between traveling in our self-converted van, drawing inspiration from the amazing places we visit, and settling into the home that holds generations of family history.
Our house, built by Alyssa’s great-grandfather in 1925, is a labor of love that we’re currently renovating. Whether we’re designing from the road or from our cozy studio at home, every pattern is created with passion, creativity, and a bit of adventure!
